This is the DC 60B Battery Tester.  The DC 60B is a Load Tester specifically made for the forklift-type battery with 2-volt cells. By adjusting the toggle switches you can adjust the tester to 20A, 40A or 60A. (Simply take the aH for the battery and multiply by 0.10 then set the tester for the proper amps) A reading is taken for each cell after the battery is fully charged. Note each measurement starting from the Pos. pole. (Numbering the cells will prevent any errors). Also taking a density measurement for each cell is done. The battery is now charged and discharged 3 times and a new reading is taken for each cell – voltage and density. If any cell is still showing a voltage reading below the average, even though the density may be in the right range, that cell is physically damaged internally and it must be replaced in order to get the full potential of the battery.
